New for 2013-14: A Beautiful Mess, Embrace your Story.
Can you relate to this? Sometimes I feel like the “mess” part is much more relatable than the “beautiful” part. But it’s all part of my story.
I asked our fearless co-coordinators to briefly share a little bit of their stories and explore what “A Beautiful Mess” means to them. Hi, Julie and Krystell!
Julie has been married to Jeff for 13 years. They have three kids: Kate (8), J.R (6), and Lillie (19m). She has been in Austin for six years and in MOPS for four years. Her take on “A Beautiful Mess:”
I think a Beautiful mess is the perfect way to describe so many things: motherhood, the Christian walk, marriage, relationships, LIFE! It’s all one mixed up jumble of me and my own selfishness, plans, ideas that God takes, reworks, refines, and makes beautiful somehow. My kiddos are an amazing picture to me of God taking my mess and making something beautiful. My life is a beautiful mess, reflecting daily God’s deep grace!!! Without His grace and love it would be a VERY UGLY mess!!!
Krystell and Jeremy have been married for 10 years, and they have Noah (6) and Jude (3). Krystell has been in Austin for seven years and in MOPS for four years. Here’s what she says about this year’s theme:
A beautiful mess means I can take some of the pressure off of trying to make everything appear “beautiful” and perfect. The bottom line is….I’m such a mess!! I am so thankful to serve a God who loves me and thinks I am a beautiful despite my messes. It’s the “messes” I encounter in my Christian walk that He makes beautiful by drawing me closer to him.
It’s encouraging to move forward into this year with the honesty and openness of ladies like Julie and Krystell. If you are new to MOPS, this exemplifies what you will find at every meeting. Keeping it real and acknowledging our daily dependence on God, encouraging each other to press on and embrace our lives as moms. It’s going to be a great year!
